MPSSAA.org: It is time to tee it up and start off the Fall Championship season with the State Golf Tournament on Monday, October 19th through Wednesday, October 21st at Potomac Ridge Golf Course in Waldorf. In the battle for the team trophies, defending champs Churchill and North Point return but will now compete for the same 4A/3A title which leaves the 2A/1A title race wide open. New faces will compete for the top spot as individual boy's and girl's champ as there are no returning champions. However, top five finishers from last year that will try to move up to the top spot include Ryan Triller from North Harford on the boys' side along with Diana Brown of Churchill and McKenzie Cutter of North Point on the girls' side.
Play will begin on all 3 days of the tournament with a 10 am shotgun start. The 4A/3A classification qualifiers play on Monday, 10/19 followed by the 2A/1A qualifiers on Tuesday, 10/20. Those who qualify from the semifinals on Monday and Tuesday will then play in the finals on Wednesday, 10/21 for the championships.
